    Sixth Grade Civil War Projects

We are finished with the projects, to view them go to each person's page and there will be a link to the different projects they have done on that page.

The projects should all be finished and uploaded to each child's page on this wiki by Thursday, March 4th by 3:00 pm for full credit.

The different projects they had a choice to do are; power-point (less than 10 pages), digital storytelling(less than 10 pages), podcasting (less than 10 minutes), a history board, and an  illustration with a sufficient description.

I will grade the projects according to the following rubric.  The children will also be required to turn in their folders with all their research and source cards they have filled out.

We are also going to have special guest visit our class on Thursday, February 25, 2010. Miss Ellie and Sgt Lewis from Little Rock are going to come visit us. Miss Ellie brings to life various influences women had on the American experiences. Contrary to their upbringing, many ladies were forced to become the head of the household, partaking in activities such as farming, managing the plantations, and making decisions previously only handled by their husbands. 1st Sgt. Lewis will present the soldier’s side of the Civil War. He will let us take a look at some of the equipment a common solider

had to carry into battle.  He shows the differences between Confederate and Federal infantrymen.

Check out some of the pictures of Miss Ellie and 1st Sgt. Lewis that were taken during the presentation on Thursday.  Miss Ellie and 1st Sgt Lewis

I am very proud of you guys. I like how you are not scared to try something new. As you research more about your projects you will be posting that information to your page on the wiki. Also, grammar matters so you are held accountable of spelling, punctuation, etc. on your page. There is a spell check on the wiki. Please use it. Good luck with your projects!!!!
